Education
Central Washington University

The Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising program has helped broaden my education on the fashion industry as a whole. The program has made me well rounded and knowledgeable in many different aspects of the industry. Some subjects include trend forecasting, visual merchandising and design elements, apparel manufacturing, styling, and consumer textile. Each class includes in-depth projects that simulate activities that are done every day in the industry, some of which are done individually, while others are done in groups. I have created trend reports, lookbooks, moodboards, advertisements, styling photo shoot, window display, technical pack, tech flats, and so much more. With the Design Minor, I have been able to gain knowledge in apparel design, draping, sewing, pattern making, garment construction, and more. I also had the opportunity to design for the Student Fashion Show. Pairing this program with my Retail Management Minor allowed me to gain more knowledge on the business, retail, and sales side of the industry.
